Perhaps for next season the salary cap should be raised a little bit (say to $45 million). Right now there's basically only one team with a lot of cap room and the rest seem to be pretty darn near it. I think it's stifling trade activity and I thought I'd put this out for discussion (without warning Matt ;D).

Agreed. Everyone threw a bunch of cash at free agents and now most teams are near the cap. I say we up it to $45 million after this season. Player movement is nearly impossible right now, it won't be an active season trade wise at all.

I'm RIGHT AT THE CAP! and I dont think we should raise it.... Chicago has done a BRILLIANT job of positioning himself for the UFA market this offseason, and should be rewarded justly for it..... I think its bollocks to bail everyone out.... you should have thought ahead... and so should I have...... tough... better luck next time....

That's true and with the way my team's playing I can't really complain much. Except Joe Thornton is going to be in some tough negotiations after this season if he doesn't lead the league in scoring .
